This piece, a part of the 7 Heavenly Virtues, is a reflection of a weekend when I had a revelation that humility manifests in different forms. One reoccurring lesson I'm facing is there are multiple ways a situation can show us that we don't always know as much as we think we do, which is good. It gives us a chance to offset our innate pride, and pivot in new ways that are beneficial to ourselves and others around us to ultimately evolve. Humility is sometimes mistaken for weakness but it's actually a wonderful and quiet trait that helps us to progress in our lives. The overall bright, cool colours are used to communicate a sense of surrender and preservation which is in contrast to the muse's semi-nude portrayal.
I hope I never forget this virtue as I continue on with my personal life and use it as a way to press on with my art career.
Materials used: acrylic and oil paint on canvas.
