Sustainability was considered when creating this work of art. The fabric's design was conceived while participating in a group show with visual artists and fashion designers at the JBDC Design Fusion 2020 in Jamaica.
It was part of my role to create an interdisciplinary strategy for exhibiting Jamaican goods utilizing organic materials. An approach I took was to combine sustainability practices from the workshops provided for all the participants with painting to create a piece that reflected the main objectives of the incubation process.
In representing myself and a unique work, I never gave cultural sustainability much thought. I'm eager to delve deeper into this concept and keep experimenting with other media to expand on my own limitations and produce more "happy accidents."
